<p>Bagalkot: A 21-year-old student of Bandari College, Guledguda in Bagalkot district, died by suicide at her home on Friday. She took this extreme step after allegedly facing mental harassment from her fellow classmates. </p><p>The deceased has been identified as Anjali, a fourth semester BA student of the college. In the death note she has blamed Varsha K Jammanakatti and Pradeep Alagundi for abetting her to end life. Anjali blamed the two and others for mental torture. </p><p>According to the FIR registered by the Guledguda police station officials, Anjali hung self at her home after returning from college. </p><p>College management informed <em>DH</em> that the victim never brought the issue to their notice. </p>.Student suicide cases | Centre forms national task force to focus on mental health.<p>Bagalkot Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Goyal while ruling out sexual harassment of the victim, said that as per the death note the police has registered a case under section of 108, 3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) of abetting suicide. </p><p>“Preliminary investigations are on. Once we get concrete proof of the nature of harassment we will take further action against the accused persons,” he said. </p><p>So far no arrests have been made in the case. </p><p>Meanwhile, the students of Bandari College staged protest in front of the college demanding arrest of the accused persons. </p><p><em>If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide, know that help is available.
