Belagavi gangrape case: Accused produced before POCSO court, Juvenile Justice Board

Belagavi: Three accused arrested in the gangrape case of a 15-year-old minor girl were produced before Special POCSO Act Court and two minors were produced before Juvenile Justice Board on Monday.

The accused had been arrested by the police on Sunday, within 24 hours of the complaint being filed at APMC police on Saturday.

A total of six accused have been named in the complaint. The victim was first raped in December 2024, when one of the accused had befriended and introduced her to others.

She was raped at a secluded place when the accused filmed the act. In January 2025, they again blackmailed her using the recorded film and raped her again.

Police nabbed five on Sunday of whom three were adults and two were minors.

After inquiry, three were produced in the Special POCSO Act court and have been sent to judicial custody. Both the minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and have been sent to Bal Bhavan.

The APMC police are investigating the case.
