The summit will be jointly organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWS&DB) and Indian Water Works Association (IWWA).

Announcing this at a pre-event launch in the City on Wednesday, Dr A Ravindra, advisor to chief minister and Chairman of CSD said the aim of organising a summit like this is to generate right ideas about water security.

Biggest challenge

“Providing clean drinking water to all is the biggest challenge. This will create a significant business opportunity in the field of water infrastructure, waste water management and water purification,” he said.

The Bangalore Water awards will be given to outstanding achievers in the fields of water conservation and innovation. In a bid to create awareness about the importance of water conservation, the BWSSB will organise a water walkathon on January 29.
