<p>Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said on Friday that BLR Hubba and the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards would be conducted in December or January.</p>.<p>He was speaking to reporters after a closed-door meeting with representatives from the IIFA festival and awards committee.</p>.<p>"We have tentatively decided to schedule BLR Hubba and IIFA in December and January. Our priority is to create an atmosphere of entertainment and festivity for about a week, making Bengaluru more prominent,” Shivakumar said.</p>.<p>"Previously, it was conducted in Rajasthan. There’s a beauty pageant in Telangana. We don’t want to do that. Lately, Sandalwood is growing beyond Bollywood. We want to encourage that growth. As we will be celebrating Dasara in October, these two events will be scheduled between December and January,” he added.</p>.<p>He further stated that organising IIFA and BLR Hubba presents an opportunity to showcase Bengaluru’s culture on a global platform.</p>.<p>"After Mumbai, Bengaluru is the most suitable city for cultural activities,” he remarked.</p>
