Bengaluru man slaps wife to death, spends two days with body unawares

Bengaluru: A 20-year-old man allegedly spent two days with the body of his wife, who died after he slapped her hard during a fight at their home in Thanisandra in northeastern Bengaluru. 

Shivam Sahane, originally from Uttar Pradesh, quarrelled with his 22-year-old wife Suman and slapped her on the evening of July 21. The couple later slept in separate rooms. 

The next morning, Sahane went to work without checking on his wife. He thought she was fast asleep. 

Two days later, on July 23, their landlord noticed a foul smell from the house when he came to collect the rent and called the police. 

The Hennur police visited the scene and later arrested Sahane. 

Police investigations showed that Suman died due to the injury caused by the slap, but Sahane was unaware of this. 

The couple had been married for six months and quarrelled frequently, according to the police.
