CCB breaks up gambling rings

Sleuths from the CCB Special Investigation Cell on Saturday raided two gambling dens in the City and arrested 14 men. They have seized Rs 2.6 lakh in cash, along with other valuables.

First to be raided was Caesar Recreation Club in Ganganagar. The six men arrested are Kaverappa, 47, Venkatesh, 27, N Raghu, 46, Mohammed Ghouse, 32, Vasu, 22 and Srikanth, 27. Police confiscated Rs 37,615 in cash and six mobile phones. A case has been registered at R T Nagar police station.

Sleuths raided Prateek Comforts and Party Hall in Jayanagar 4th ‘T’ block and arrested eight men for gambling. The arrested are Shivanand, 29, B T Ramesh, 36, H K Santosh, 34, Shivakumar, 27, Anil Kumar, 27, H K Kumar, 4, Balaji, 32 and Jagadish, 28.

Police have recovered Rs 1.23 lakh in cash, eight mobile phones and three cars. A case has been registered at Jayanagar police station.
