The State government has imposed prohibitory orders in and around Vidhana Soudha on the day to avert the Congress protest.

KPCC president R V Deshpande, on Friday, said the party had the right to stage protest against misdeeds of the ruling party. The party would not backtrack from its decision in the wake of prohibitory orders. All legislators, ex-legislators, ex-MPs would gather at the office of the Congress Legislature Party in the first floor of Vidhana Soudha at 9 am. “We will not divulge any details of the protest. We will spring a surprise to one and all on Saturday morning,” he said.

Meanwhile, the City’s Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said the police had appealed to the Congress leaders not to create any law and order problem. “As a preventive measure we promulgated section 144 of the CrPC around Vidhana Soudha. We have made adequate arrangements to tackle any law and order situation,” he told Deccan Herald.
