<p>Eco-friendly vehicles were introduced at Cubbon park on Sunday to help ferry the aged and also those with children around the park. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Deputy director of horticulture department Mahantesh Murgod said that the eco-friendly vehicles have been introduced on a trial basis and the response has been good according to officials. <br /><br />“This facility can be used by visitors who wish to take a trip around the park and are unable to walk much. To try it out, the vehicles were brought from Lalbagh where they are in regular use,” he added. <br /><br />This facility was sought by many visitors who came to the park on Sunday when the vehicles are prohibited, Murgod added. <br /><br />He explained that with the park being a vast one spread over 192 acres, not all will be able to walk. Since there is a ban on vehicles on Sunday, the facility was much needed, he observed. <br /><br />The day began with Udayaraga in the park and was followed by a show by the KSRP police band. Stalls by Hopcoms, sale of ornamental flowers and book exhibition also attracted the crowd.</p>
