The high court on Wednesday quashed the Lokayukta proceedings against retired IAS officer R Suresh in a mining lease contract case.
Justice Anand Byrareddy quashed the proceedings after he found that the case booked against Suresh was illegal.
Suresh was accused of granting rectification of area map for mining in the lease contract without the approval of the Union government.
He had approached the court seeking quashing of the proceedings against him. It was found that when he was the secretary to the government, his subordinates had not informed him of the procedure before making rectification in the area mapping of a lease contract.
