Lokayukta police on Monday arrested a constable and an inspector attached to Halasurgate police station for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a recreation club owner.
According to police, Manjunath, owner of a recreation club on Avenue Road, had lodged a complaint against the two cops for demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000.
When Manjunath refused to pay bribe, Inspector C V Deepak instructed him to pay Rs 10,000 before the 10th of every month.
Judicial custody
A criminal case was registered against the two and a trap was laid.
The constable was caught while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on behalf of Deepak. Both were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
