The Lokayukta police, on Wednesday, raided the Devanahalli sub-division office of the Public Works Department (PWD), in connection with a complaint alleging irregularities in granting works.

A contractor had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta police, saying that three officials had swindled money released under the special component plan for Scheduled Castes.

Sources said that V Shankar, the complainant, had alleged that a special component plan of Rs 3 crore was sanctioned to the Devanahalli sub-division for concrete road work.

The officials awarded the work through manual tender, without following e-procurement procedure. A Lokayukta official said that the search at the office will continue on Thursday morning.
