Nature cure awaits Kejriwal at Jindal

Delhi CM will be treated for cough here for ten days

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will begin his 10-day stay at the Jindal Naturecure Institute in the City on Thursday, to get treated for a long-term illness.

Following the initial assessment of the patient’s condition, a course of Naturopathy treatment would be decided upon. Chief Medical Officer of the Institute, Dr Babina Nandakumar, would be treating him if admitted to the hospital.

According to Aam Aadmi Party leader Prithvi Reddy, Kejriwal will stay at the institute for 10 days and will be accompanied by his parents.

This will be the second time that Kejriwal will stay in the institute. He had previously visited the place when anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare was admitted here in August 2012 for high blood pressure and dizziness. He had undergone rejuvenation therapy.

Kejriwal will be treated by the same doctor who treated Hazare. The spokesperson of the hospital said that a two-partition cottage ‘Nest’ would be provided to them. “It is not a normal accommodation certainly. However, there is nothing extraordinary either. He will be given all the facilities provided to a VIP,” he added.

On whether Hazare had referred Kejriwal to the Institute, the spokesperson said, “It might not be because of any reference that he is coming here. He has stayed at the Institute before with Hazare. He might have been happy with the facilities and treatment here because of which he has chosen to return.”

Kejriwal will reach Bengaluru at 12.30 pm on Thursday. He will head to the Jindal Nature cure Institute on Tumakuru Road from the Kempegowda International Airport.

AAP leader Reddy also said that the party has not asked for any special security arrangements as Kejriwal was against it. “Even at the Institute, there will be no security arrangements. He is taking an Air India flight from Delhi at 9.30 am. I will accompany him from the airport,” he added.

Commissioner of Police M N Reddi said, “We were notified about Kejriwal's visit to the City. The usual security arrangements will be provided to the Delhi Chief Minister. The security given to the chief ministers from other states will be provided to him.”

A senior police officer said, “We have no idea about the flight he is taking. But we have informed the jurisdictional police to provide tight security at the airport. Also, we will follow the protocol and make the required arrangements.”
