Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Day

BENGALURU: The Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of India (AOMSI) will observe Oral and Maxillofacila Surgery day on February 13.

The lesser known surgery specialises in treating disease and deformities of facial skeleton and structures in and around the oral cavity. These include, facial fractures, surgical treatment of oral cancer, treatment of cysts and tumours of the face. Congenital deformities of face like cleft lip and palate, oral and facial infections, re-positioning of jaws for cosmetic and functional correction of same, treatment of facial pain and temporomandibular disorders are also treated with this method.
