According to the Lokayukta officials, Ashok, the ARO at Pulakeshinagar, had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from complainant Balaraju to change the khata of a house in his name. The sum was brought down to Rs 25,000 after negotiation.
Chain snatching
Two unidentified persons robbed an elderly woman of her gold chain worth Rs 50,000 on Monday evening in Seshadripuram area.
According to police, the suspects followed Uma (64) on their bike in Kumarakrupa West area. The pillion rider snatched her chain while she was crossing the road, and fled.
