These institutions together have 6,000 seats amongst them. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has categorically stated that colleges without approval from AICTE will now be included only during casual vacancy round to be held on June 27, 2009.

“We have decided that the engineering seats which are pending approval will be incorporated if and when they are given during the casual vacancy round for the year 2009,” said Shankarnarayan, newly appointed Executive Director, Karnataka Examination Authority.

With the seat matrix for engineering seats still to come out till late on Wednesday night, the prospects of the 6000 approval-pending seats into admission rounds, to begin from Thursday, remain slim. Meanwhile, the AICTE has assured certain colleges of correction in their pending status only on the day of CET counselling.
