Senior BBMP officer's PA found hanging

The personal assistant of the BBMP's eastern zone joint commissioner allegedly killed himself in his Vijayanagar home on Wednesday.

Police said that Rakesh Gowda, 33, was found hanging in one of the bedrooms of his house around noon. His niece, who was staying with him, grew anxious after he failed to respond to her knocks on the door and phone calls. She telephoned his brother and called him home.

Gowda's brother arrived at the house and broke open the bedroom door only to find him hanging. He was later declared 'brought dead' at a hospital.

Gowda's family told the police that he didn't have any dispute with anyone in the family or at the workplace. The current joint commissioner of the BBMP East Zone is Pallavi K R.

Police said they hadn't yet found a death note and had registered a case of unnatural death. Gowda's wife and children had gone out of town to attend a function.
