Status quo on land allotment

The petitioner, Madhusudananda Swamiji of Omkar Ashram had moved the High Court questioning the grant of 14 acres of land to the Chitrakala Parishat. The petitioner had requested for 22 acres of land for his ashram in the village. The State had allotted 8 acres and the remaining 14 acres were pending and was later given to Chitrakala Parishat.

Responding to a query by the petitioner, Justice Narayanas-wamy directed the State to cancel the allotment of land to both the parties. However, when the petitioners challenged the order, the division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath ordered for a status quo.
