Street vendor run over by train

A 52-year-old man was killed on the spot after he came under a moving train while crossing the Nayandahalli Gate on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Afroz, a pushcart vendor, who used to sell plastic goods. According to the police, a tipsy Afroz was trying to cross the railway gate and did not notice a train heading towards him. He was hit by the train and came under it. The post-mortem was conducted at the Victoria Hospital and the body was handed over to the family members, added the police.
