<p>Bengaluru: Bengaluru: An elderly couple and their married daughter died in a gruesome road accident near Dobbspet on the northwestern outskirts of Bengaluru on Thursday, police officials said. </p><p>The couple's two grandchildren were also injured in the crash, but are currently out of danger. </p><p>Gopal, a 60-year-old resident of Malleswaram, left with his wife Shashikala (55), daughter Deepa (30), and grandchildren — four-year-old Bhuvan and 18-month-old Aadhya — on Thursday morning. </p>.Bengaluru: Four, including two brothers, die in road accidents .<p>Travelling by a Maruti Celerio, they were headed to Sira, Tumakuru district, to attend a naming ceremony at a relative's house. </p><p>However, as the car neared the Lakkuru railway bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway, it crashed into a left-side barrier around 10.30 am. </p><p>Traffic police investigating the crash said it remains unclear how it actually happened.</p><p>Gopal, who was at the wheel, doesn't appear to have applied any sudden brakes nor did the car's air bags deploy. </p><p>"The cause of the accident remains a mystery. We are still trying to figure things out," an officer close to the investigations told <em>DH</em>. </p><p>Shashikala, who was sitting in the front next to her husband, died on the spot. Gopal and Deepa died on the way to hospital, the officer added. </p><p>Deepa's husband, who lives in Pune, has arrived in Bengaluru, according to the officer. </p>
