<p>Mangaluru: A delegation of BJP leaders led by district BJP President Satish Kumpala express stiff objection to compiling a list of 36 men for externment from the district and registering of cases against Hindutva leaders during their meeting with Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K and Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy on Tuesday. A delegation of MLAs led by Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar met Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar in Udupi on Tuesday and discussed about the law and order situation in the district on District.</p><p>The delegation urged police chiefs to drop Hindutva leaders from the list of people for externment as no cases were registered against them in recent times. Even if the accused is wanted in old cases, police should stop visiting the houses after nightfall. The delegation comprised of MLAs Dr Y Bharat Shetty, Umanath Kotian, Rajesh Naik Ulepady, Harish Poonja, Baghirathi Marulya, BJP District secretary Premananda Shetty among others.</p><p>Satish Kumpala after the meeting told police that repeated attempts to disturb the peace in the region was being witnessed again. SP and Commissioner informed us that the process of externment of anti social elements from the district was initiated by previous Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, "We have expressed our displeasure with police for projecting Hindutva activists as criminals by registering FIR against them. If police continue with such pressure tactics, peace will never prevail in the region again," Kumpala warned. </p><p>Satish insisted that district in charge minister should have taken them into confidence before compiling such externment list."The registering of FIR against Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, the externment of Hindutva leaders all brings back memories of emergency days. Dharnas will become inevitable if police machinery is abused by government to lower the morale of Sangh Parivar members. "Both BJP and Sangh Parivar will take a decision on the next course of action," he said.</p><p>"We also urged police to discharge their duties impartially and not follow the diktats of party in power," Satish stressed and added that the party will always extend co-operation in establishing peace in the region. </p> .<p>Vindictive actions against Sangh Parivar would trigger unrest in society</p><p>The delegation comprising of Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Kundapur MLA Kiran Kodgi, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty expressed disappointment with police visiting the houses of Hindutva leaders after nightfall and arresting them. The delegation warned that such vindictive actions would trigger unrest in society. The delegation pointed out that illegal activities like gambling, matka among others had increased. The police should initiate actions to curb such illegal activities. If police continue to harass Hindutva leaders, we will be forced to stage dharna, the delegation warned.</p>
