<p>Srirangapatna (Mandya dist): The BJP and RSS do not believe in social justice and are not committed to it, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah opined on Friday while speaking to the reporters at Tubinakere helipad, Kasaba hobli, in Mandya taluk. </p><p>He was in the town to take part in the inaugural ceremony of the renovated Sri Annadaneshwara Swamy temple at Allapatna village, Srirangapatna taluk.</p><p>Siddaramaiah said, the RSS which was founded in 1925 has been opposing the reservation for the Dalit and backward communities for the last 100 years. "Right from the Miller Commission constituted by Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar to now, they have been opposing it," he said. </p>.Dakshina Kannada tops SSLC results in Karnataka.<p><strong>Stress on socio-economic survey</strong></p><p>The CM also stressed on conducting social, educational and economical surveys. Rahul Gandhi has been insisting on it for around two years, and it was included in the Congress manifesto as well. </p><p>"AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about it. After all this pressure, the Union government has stated they will be conducting a caste census, but they have not fixed a time for it. They have said that they will conduct the caste census along with the population census. There should be a social, educational and economic survey. The Constitution should be amended and the maximum limit of reservation should be increased," he said.</p><p>While the Supreme Court has said that the reservation should not exceed 50 per cent, Siddaramaiah said that he would urge the Prime Minister to remove the maximum limit on reservation and bring reservation in the private sector also.</p><p><strong>Mangaluru murder incident</strong></p><p>Commenting on the murder of Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru, Siddaramaiah said that the police have informed him that the person murdered was a rowdy sheeter. "I have spoken to the ADGP (Law and order) and have sent him to Mangaluru. Life of a person is very important. We have directed to take legal action against the guilty, whoever it is," he said.</p><p>To a query on BJP leaders' visit to the place where rowdy sheeter Suhas Shetty was murdered, Siddaramaiah said that the BJP have been searching for such incidents for political gains. "What have they been saying about the Pahalgam incident? Why didn't Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit Pahalgam, where 26 people died due to terrorist attack? Don't they think it is important?", he asked.</p><p>"Wasn't the Pahalgam incident a security failure? There were no police or security forces deployed at Pahalgam, where thousands of tourists visit. If there was none, what does this mean?", he asked.</p><p><strong>Threat calls</strong></p><p>To a question on a threat call to Speaker U T Khader, the CM said that he has also received threat calls. It has been informed to the police and they have been directed to take necessary steps in the matter. </p>
