Former MLC Go Madhusudana urged Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda, to take the advice of any expert in the country, but not K S Rangappa, who was vice-chancellor of two Mysuru-based universities — Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and University of Mysore (UoM).

Madhusudana addressed the media in Mysuru on Tuesday and demanded a CBI inquiry into Rangappa's term as VC. Rangappa is said to be an aspirant for the post of advisor to the Higher Education Minister now. He was also the JD(S) candidate in the recently concluded Assembly polls.

Madhusudana called Rangappa 'Pukkala' (jitterbug), cheat, criminal, fraudster, 'Wrongappa' (a combination of Wrong and Rangappa) in an attempt to provoke him.

Listing out 25 queries that he had sent to Rangappa, Madhusudana challenged that he was ready for a face-to-face debate at any forum.

It maybe recalled that Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) had organised a face-to-face interaction between the ex-MLC and Rangappa.

Madhusudana has been fighting against Rangappa as a member of the Board of Management (BoM) of the KSOU. Both parties have been challenging and counter-challenging each other for a long time now.

However, the MDJA debate never took place citing legal reasons; (cases against Rangappa, in connection with KSOU management, are pending before the court).

Madhusudana arrived at the MDJA as scheduled and was expecting to engage with Rangappa there. He said, even though the MDJA has called off the interaction, there was no harm in discussing issues that are not before the court.

Madhusudana went to the extent of saying that he would have stripped Rangappa nude, with his volley of questions based on facts, had he appeared in the debate.

Rangappa is related to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy by his son Shreyas' marriage to Namratha, the CM's niece. Namratha is the daughter of Anasuya, Kumaraswamy’s elder sister.
