<p>Mangaluru: In a major breakthrough, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a habitual offender who had been absconding after securing bail in several criminal cases and failing to appear before the court for trial. </p><p>The arrested Mohammed Abdul Fayaan (27), a resident of Kalkatta in Manjanady, was handed over to the Barke Police Station for further legal procedures.</p>.Kerala resident arrested in connection with illegal religious conversion in UP's Mirzapur.<p>City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said Fayaan is reportedly involved in 24 criminal cases registered across various police stations in Mangaluru city and Dakshina Kannada district, including Konaje, Ullal, Bantwal Town, Bantwal Rural, Uppinangady, Kadaba, and Puttur Town. The charges include theft in government offices, schools, and shops, attempt to murder, assault on fellow inmates inside prison, and obstructing jail staff from discharging duty while in judicial custody.</p><p>Despite being released on bail in these cases, he had been evading court appearances, leading to the issuance of 24 non-bailable warrants by different courts. Authorities also revealed that Fayaan is facing multiple criminal charges in various police stations in Kerala as well, said the Commissioner. </p>
