Last Updated 16 December 2018, 19:27 IST

Owing to the lunar eclipse, the doors of Chamundeshwari Devi temple, atop the Chamundi Hill, will be closed at 9 pm on the second Ashada Friday, temple authorities said.

The lunar eclipse will begin at 10.44 pm on Friday.

According to the Chamundeshwari Temple authorities, due to the lunar eclipse, the doors of the temple will be closed on 9 pm.

Otherwise, the closure of the temple was scheduled for 10 pm on Ashada Fridays.

Bus service

As the temple will be closed a little earlier, the free bus service to the hill shrine from Lalitha Mahal Palace Helipad will stop at 6 pm.

On the occasion of Ashada Fridays, as the City Police ban the movement of private vehicles atop the hill, KSRTC buses ply between the helipad and the hill to ferry the devotees, the authorities stated.
