<p>Bengaluru: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/siddaramaiah">CM Siddaramaiah</a> on Monday chaired a meeting on the appointment of the chief commissioner and seven commissioners to the Information Commission.</p>.<p>The posts are vacant now. Of the 500 applications, the committee shortlisted 15, but left the final decision on appointments to the CM.</p>.<p>Sources said several journalists had applied for this time. While 4 journalists are said to have been chosen, experts from other fields have reportedly been considered for the remaining four positions. A notification will be out in a couple of days, sources said. Taking exception to ‘partisan’ selection, some candidates have lodged complaints.</p>.<p>“According to rules, those well placed in society and are well-versed in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass communication or management and administration can be nominated. However, there has been partisanship this time,” they said. </p>
