Congress expels ex-MLC Kariyanna

The state Congress expelled former MLC Kariyanna for six years in connection with the recent incident of slogan shouting against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Koppal district, KPCC general secretary Boseraj said.

AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal directed KPCC president G Parameshwara to take action against the former legislator during his visit to Bengaluru. Kariyanna and his followers had shouted slogans against Siddaramaiah. AICC secretary Sakesh Shailajanat was also present when the incident took place.

Besides, the Congress expelled Vinay Gandhi, a party worker from Hassan district for creating a ruckus at the KPCC office where Venugopal was holding a meeting with party leaders.
