The CID investigators had filed an application before the court seeking permission to draw blood samples of Halappa, accused of rape. The counsel for Halappa had filed his objections on May 17 and the court had reserved the orders after hearing arguments on Thursday.

His advocate sought the court to grant time of 30 days to file an appeal against the order. The court, however said the order will be in abeyance till May 24. Halappa’s stay at Victoria Hospital will extend to another week, according to Medical Superintendent Dr B G Tilak. He revealed that while Halappa’s fever had come down, he was suffering from chest infection and cough. He is on medication.
