Demanding authorities to check the wild animals' menace, the members of CPM staged a protest at Siddapura bus stand.

CPM leader Dr I R Durgaprasad said that the menace of tiger and elephants is on the rise in the district. The human-elephant conflict has reached its peak.

Recently, three lives were lost in an elephant attack. In spite of it, the government has not taken any steps to check the menace. No budgetary allocations have been made for taking steps to check the menace, he said.

He urged the MLAs from the district to raise the issue in the session.

Farmer leader N D Kuttappa said that farmers and labourers are in distress following the wild animals' menace.

Fear has gripped the villages. Farmers have lost standing crops following the attack by animals. In spite of it, a permanent solution is still a mirage, he said.
