<p>Flagging water scarcity as a factor which could limit the country's growth, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has given a clarion call for effective management of water.</p>.<p>“Water is becoming a scarce resource and is going to be a limiting factor for growth, in agriculture and other sectors. I suggest we dedicate a full decade for extensive and intensive water conservation efforts. Let us call it the 'water decade,' Kumaraswamy said in his speech at the Niti Aayog meeting here on Sunday.</p>.<p>“Water has to become a people’s movement. A substantial part of our resources need to be dedicated for water conservation and management. A mission mode with monitorable indicators has to be the way forward. Our government is fully ready to dedicate its efforts towards this”, he said.</p>.<p>The chief minister said the government had taken taken several steps to overcome this, like lake rejuvenation under 'Kere Sanjeevini,' a special initiative.</p>
