In a private initiative, battery-powered three-wheeler electric scooters will be introduced in the city for Dasara. People who visit Amba Vilas Palace and Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens can make use of the facility.
The scooters were launched on Tuesday by Revenue and district incharge Minister Sreenivas Prasad at the Palace premises. Three such scooters will be available at the Palace and the Zoo and two such vehicles will be used by the traffic police.
According to N Anjan Kumar, CEO of Greendzine Technologies, Bangalore, each scooter costs Rs 35,000. After charging for 30 minutes, the vehicle can be run for up to six hours, he said. Tourists can use the facility at a nominal fee, he said.
