A youth was killed and another suffered serious injuries following a group clash between the youth of Gavanahalli and Aadishakthi Nagara, at Kadri Midri in Chikkamagaluru taluk on Sunday.
The deceased is Pavan (21), a resident of Adishakthi Nagara. His friend Pavan (34) has suffered injuries and is recuperating at Aralaguppe Mallegowda Hospital.
Pavan and his five friends had been to a eucalyptus grove at Kadri Midri to click photographs. They were questioned by five youth led by Kiran of Gavanahalli. This led to an exchange of words and the youth from Gavanahalli stabbed Pavan and his friend and fled the spot, said sources in the police.
