Houses damaged in elephant attack

A house was damaged by an elephant at Kanakanahalli near here on Friday morning.

An elephant strayed into the village and was found near the house of Shivanayaka under N Begur range forest.

 When the attempts by the occupants of the house to drive away the elephant failed, they locked themselves inside.

 Learning about the incident, the villagers informed the forest department personnel. It was driven into the forest later.

Assistant conservator of forest Karikalan, range forest officers Chikkarajendra and Nataraju visited the spot.
