<p>Tumakuru: District in-charge minister G Parameshwara on Wednesday directed the officials to expedite the land acquisition process for Yettinahole project in the district and complete the same by August-end.</p>.<p>At a progress review meeting of various projects undertaken in the district, Parameshwara said, "The compensation for the land owners who parted with their land to Yettinahole project have already been paid, but the works are far from over, he said and directed the officials to complete the works in areas where the land had already been acquired."</p>.Illegal mining scam: Karnataka govt forms yet another panel under H K Patil.<p>The state government has set a 2027 deadline to complete the project and supply drinking water to 75 lakh people across nine central districts, including Tumakuru. The project cost has escalated by Rs 2,000 crore owing to increased land acquisition costs. According to the government, a total of 24.1 tmcft needed for the project. Of which14 tmcft would be used for drinking water purposes.</p>
