KPCC President Parameshwara's rural sojourn at dalit's house

KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara enjoyed the taste and lifestyle of the rural areas of the state at Muggondanahalli, Koratagere taluk, Tumakuru district on Saturday.  

Parameshwara who is on his poll tour, stopped over for a meal and rest at Hanumantharayappa, a leftist dalit's house for Saturday night. He arrived at about 10.30 pm.  

The KPCC chief was welcomed with an 'aarti' performed by the women of the household and had his dinner that comprised ragi balls, 'soppina saaru' and other a 'palya'.

Then he sat on a straw mat in front of the house and discussed the daily problems faced by the family. The women of the family entertained Parameshwara  by singing folk songs for him. He retired for the day at midnight.  

He woke up at 5.30 am, washed up and practiced yoga and meditation. He ate 'akki rotti' for breakfast and had pictures taken with the family. He visited the village school at 8.15 am.  

"People call me a white-collar politician, but I come from a poor village family. I understand poverty," he asserted.  

"I know that rural cuisine is very tasty. Which is why I asked for it, " he added.
