Man shoots wife to death, ends life by consuming acid in Karnataka

Mangaluru: A man in an inebriated condition killed his wife by shooting her and later consumed acid and ended his own life, at Nellur Kemraje village in Sullia on Friday late night. The deceased are Ramachandra Gowda and his wife Vinoda Kumari.

In the complaint, the 26-year-old son of the deceased, Prashanth S R said that his father Ramachandra Gowda, had a habit of consuming alcohol. In an inebriated condition, Ramachandra had verbally abused the complainant's grandparents and mother. Around 11:30 pm, he got into an argument with the complainant's mother, Vinoda Kumari, in the under-construction kitchen of their house.

During the altercation, he allegedly used a firearm he was holding to fatally shoot Vinoda Kumari. Later, he consumed acid used for rubber sheet preparation and ended his life.

A case has been registered at the Sullia Police Station under Section 103 of BNS Act 2023, and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act
