Panel meeting today to select Lokayukta

A committee headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will meet in Bengaluru on Friday to decide on the next Lokayukta.

The post of the Lokayukta has been lying vacant since December last year after Justice Y Bhaskar Rao resigned following extortion charges against his son Ashwin.

Besides Siddaramaiah, the panel comprises the Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, presiding officers and the leaders of the Opposition of the two Houses of the Legislature.
