Poll code: Ex-MLA complains against minister

Former Krishnaraja MLA M K Somashekar on Friday lodged a complaint of violation of election code of conduct against Medical Education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas, to the State Election Commission.

Somashekar lodged a complaint with Naveen Raj Singh poll observer for the district, at Government Guest House in the City.

He produced name plates, wrist watches and shawls distributed by the supporters of his political bete noire, as evidences to the observer.

Somashekar also brought it to the notice of the observer that freebies were being distributed in view of the forthcoming urban local body (ULB) polls scheduled for March 7.

Action

Singh is learnt to have promised to initiate action only after probing into the complaint.
Somashekar was accompanied by Mysore and Kodagu MP A H Vishwanath, Narasimharaja MLA  Tanveer Sait and  former mayor Vasu.
