President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the platinum jubilee celebrations of Karnatak Law Society (KLS) and Raja Lakhamgouda Law College here on Saturday.

The event has been organised on the premises of the Gogte Institute of Technology at Udyambag from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. Supreme Court Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and other dignitaries will participate in the programme.

The KLS was established in 1939 and the first batch of Raja Lakhamgouda College began in 1939 and graduated in 1941. More than 7,500 students have passed out from the esteemed institution since then. Former Chief Justice of India E S Venkataramaiah, former Chief Justice of India and former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission S Rajendra Babu, and the present Attorney General of India K K Venugopal, are a few notable among the many luminaries produced by the college. The KLS runs schools and colleges in the field of Law, Commerce, Engineering, and Management Education, and all its institutions are reputed in Karnataka.
