Scientist K S M S Raghavarao has assumed charge as the Director of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, recently.
Raghavarao was Chief Scientist, Department of Food Engineering, at CFTRI.
He obtained BTech in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University, Vizag, in 1981 and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, formerly University Department of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, in 1987. Raghavarao bagged several awards for his extensive research works.
The Director position was vacant after scientist Ram Rajsekharan was transferred in August 2017.
He was accused of being anti-Kannada. However,
several farmers association had opposed the transfer of Ram Rajsekharan for his service to the farming community.
