'Reduce dependency on hydel power'

Speaking at the inauguration of the ELCA Power International-2009 (EPI-09), organised by the Electrical Consultants Association of India (ELCA) recently, he said “The decrease in dependency on hydel sources will save Western Ghats. The need of the hour is for more research and development in the field of renewable energy and ‘Green Energy’ to power the future. There is a need to fight global warming through efficient and innovative electrical equipment,” he said.
ELCA President Jayashree Umesh said, “EPI-09 is an attempt to introduce different facets of electric sector to the common people. It is also an attempt to spread knowledge about new developments in the power sector to all stake holders. The event is an excellent opportunity for global and local electric companies to showcase their products.”
