They aired their opinion at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner P C Jaffer here on Thursday in connection with seizure of hundreds of quintals of paddy seeds  recently. They charged the officials of Seed Corporation of supplying the chemically paddy seeds to the rice mills though it was unfit for human and animal consumption.

However, the District Manager of KSC Shivaram defended the supply of paddy seeds to rice mills as it was outdated and there is a provision in the corporation to dispose of such seeds by inviting tender . “The corporation has not committed any mistake and it is bound by norms”.

As both farmers and seed corporation officials failed to arrive at a consensus, the matter was left to the DC.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Puttamadaiah, Joint Director of Agriculture Sangaiah, ryot leaders Konasale Narasaraju others were present.
