Shobha’s contribution is nil: KPCC gen secy

Last Updated 10 April 2019, 18:32 IST

Incumbent MP Shobha Karandlaje has neglected the development of constituency in the last five years. It is a tragedy that she is seeking votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said KPCC General Secretary A V Gayathri Shanthe Gowda.

Speaking to reporters, she said, "Let Shobha seek votes for Modi in Varanasi from where he is contesting. Shobha's contribution to the development of the district is nill."

The work on a mini aerodrome in Chikkamagaluru has remained neglected. The MP had failed to get funds for aerodrome work, she alleged.

Gayathri Shanthe Gowda said, "Coffee, arecanut and coconut growers are in distress in the district. As an MP, Shobha had failed to respond to the woes of the growers. The BJP had itself started #Go back Shobha campaign."

Stating that the work on Chikkamagaluru-Belur-Sakleshpura railway line has remained neglected, she said that there was a proposal on setting up a commando training centre at Kudremukh, which too was not pursued by the MP.

Though the incumbent MP had adopted Daradahalli village in Mudigere, the situation in the village had not changed after the adoption, she added.
