Congress leader Siddaramaiah successfully underwent a laparoscopic surgery for removal of gallstones on Thursday.

Dr Ramesh Makam, surgeon, Vikram Hospital, told reporters that Siddaramaiah was stable and doing fine.

“It was a minor surgery which took about 45 minutes. Post-surgery, he did not complain of any pain.

“He will have to rest till Saturday and then he will be discharged.” After his discharge, he will be able to actively participate in the election campaign, his personal cardiologist Dr Ravi Kumar said.
