Superintendent of Police Nisha James has said that she has written to Naval Base in Karwar seeking information on the tracing of wreckage of Suvarna Thribhuja missing fishing boat at Malvan in Maharashtra.

The Navy had posted a tweet on tracing the wreckage of Suvarna Thribhuja. The fishing boat had left for deep sea fishing from Malpe on December 13 and has remained incommunicado from December 15.

Nityanand Kotian, brother of Chandrashekar Kotian, one of the missing fishermen, had filed a missing complaint at Malpe police station when the fishing boat failed to return even after December 22.

The Naval tweet on May 1 had clarified about the tracing of the boat wreckage. Detailed information has been sought from the Navy and the information is awaited from Naval officer, the SP said in a press release.
