Speaker's surprise visit stumps latecomers

There are more than 600 employees in various wings of the Secretariat and their reporting time is 10.15 am.

A written explanation will be sought from the employees for their unauthorised absence, official sources said.

Both biometric and swipe card system are used in the Secretariat premises for attendance registration. Bopaiah, however, refused to comment stating that it is an internal matter.
The sources said that a circular had been issued recently directing all employees of the Assembly Secretariat to ensure they reach office on time.

The Secretariat has several sections including the reporting branch, legislative branch, administration, library and accounts.
