State under Central scanner, says Moily

Last Updated 24 October 2010, 17:56 IST

Speaking on the sidelines of a event held to felicitate Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah in Bangalore, Moily said, “The situation is extremely deplorable in the State. They (BJP) are solely responsible for the crisis in the State”.

To a query on JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda’s remark that the UPA government had turned a blind eye to the political crisis in the State, Moily said the Congress central leadership was monitoring the situation closely and will act as per the demands of the Constitution.

“We are watching the entire developments closely. We have not closed our eyes”, he said.
Moily riduculed the BJP’s demand to amend the anti-defection law.

“Those who defied the same law to bring MLAs from other parties into their own party are suggesting it. It is laughable,” he said.

On the dais, while showering accolades on the AP Chief Minister, Moily took a dig at the horsetrading currently happening in the State. He said the MLAs should take a leaf or two out of Rosaiah’s “clean” image.

“Those who are making crores of rupees and becoming MLAs should look at Rosaiah’s clean, clever and patient image,” he remarked.
