<p>Bengaluru: A tigress, aged about 7 years, was found dead in Lakkavalli range of Bhadra Tiger Reserve by the staffers on Thursday morning.</p>.<p>The carcass of the tigress, with bite marks and injuries, was found by frontline staff. Dr Shivakumar of N R Pura Government Veterinary College conducted the post-mortem and sent the blood and tissue samples for tests. </p>.Act of 'revenge': Three arrested for 'poisoning' tigress, 4 cubs in Karnataka.<p class="bodytext">The department suspected that the tigress was involved in a fight with another tiger some stating that it was a slightly unusual phenomenon.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“Usually, it’s the males who fight for territory. Females fight to save cubs, but they usually don’t risk their life. This has to be studied further,” a source said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">After confirming that no bullet injuries and no remains of metal/bullet were found inside the carcass, the remains were incinerated as per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority. </p>
