Veerashaiva-Lingayat convention will not benefit party: B Y Vijayendra

"Rambhapuri Swamiji has great expectations from me and has given a message that everyone should be united and work together," said B Y Vijayendra

Chikkamagaluru, DHNS: "Holding a Veerashaiva-Lingayat convention while I am the BJP state president will not benefit the party. I will speak to everyone as soon as the ongoing session concludes," said BJP Karnataka state president B Y Vijayendra.

Speaking to reporters in Balehonnur, he stated, "It is not right to hold a community convention when everything is reaching a logical conclusion (about upcoming BJP President election). I am not saying this just for the sake of argument, but because you asked the question."

"I participated in the Yugamanotsava event of the Rambhapuri Mutt. Rambhapuri Swamiji has always supported BS Yediyurappa. He also has great expectations from me. He has given a message that everyone should be united and work together," he noted.

Commenting on the Ranya Rao case, he said, "Elders say there is no smoke without fire. Such a serious case cannot happen without someone's support. While one side involves an IPS officer's daughter, there is also discussion about the minister’s connection to the matter. The truth will come out after a proper investigation."
