Remembrance: 96th birth anniversary celebrated

He was presiding over the 96th jayanthi mahotsava of the seer organised at JSS Arts, Science and Commerce college in the city.

Aimed at the students, the legislator said achievements are eternal rather than life. Early college life is a significant period in every student’s life and youngsters — be it boys or girls — should make judicious use of it.

Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) commissioner C G Betsurmath lauded the seer as ‘punya purusha’ and straight forward, who had immense concern towards all.

Belief

He was of the belief that taking up development works is a farce where poverty and illiteracy reigns.

It was his statesmanship that led to the growth of educational institutions under the umbrella of JSS Mahavidyapeetha.

Beli mutt seer Sri Shivarudra graced the function. JSS PU College principal S Somashekar, degree college principal B V Sambashivaiah, JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing director Dr N P Nataraj, JSS DEd college principal M C Nataraj and PG social studies chairman M P Somshekar were present on the occasion.
