State Congress leaders belonging to the Muslim community on Thursday urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to withdraw cases slapped against those accused of being involved in communal clashes in Mysore, Hassan and Shimoga years ago.

About 439 cases were booked against people belonging to the minority community in connection with the communal clashes in Mysore in 2009. Similarly, about 149 cases in Hassan and 130 cases in Shimoga were booked related to the communal flare-up in 2010.

Stating most of these cases were false and politically motivated, they urged the government to provide justice to youths.
